Sending Electronic Files:

Vander-Bend can receive various electronic files for quotation, production, and other purposes via e-mail or FTP.  To best obtain a timely quote, please provide a fully documented drawing including feature dimensions, materials, PEM and other fasteners, and electronic components.  Tolerances, especially if they vary from normal industry standards should be specified, as well as cosmetic requirements where they are a part of the acceptance criteria.  Specify all finish requirements, which may include: plating, painting, masking, and silkscreen information.

1) If you are using Pro-E, Solidworks, CadKey, or AutoCad (14 or 2000), then we recommend that the native file formats be sent.  Note that ProE and SolidWorks drawing files require all associated part, assembly, and, for ProE,   format files be included.

2) If you are sending a 2D drawing, Adobe PDF files print most efficiently.  Autocad DWG files can often be exported and usually present no problems.

3) A solid model created in a format other than those listed above, can be best be transmitted as a Step or Iges file.

We recommend compressing files.  Our systems do not have a limitation on size of email attachments, although 10 Meg is probably a practical limit. Large files should be placed on our ftp site or can be retrieved from your site. Please contact our
Customer Account Managers for details on use of our ftp site.
